Maryam Ishani co-hosts and produces one of Karma’s flagship shows, 1Number.

She is a global producer, director, and journalist who has produced in-depth political and cultural reporting feature length news segments from as far afield as Colombia, Iraq, Yemen, and Afghanistan for Agence France-Presse, Foreign Policy Magazine, and The Guardian, among others.

Maryam is skilled in political analysis, storytelling, video production, and news writing. She earned her bachelor’s degree from McGill University and a master’s degree from Columbia University.
