Co-Working: A Growth Opportunity for an Expanding Indian Workforce
When you think of co-working office space, you might imagine a group of freelancers or entrepreneurs, quietly pecking away at their keyboards. But there’s another group, major employers.
IBM, Microsoft and many other firms see these on-demand collaborative workspaces as the future of doing business. An estimated 79% of business meetings held in these shared office spaces are conducted by larger firms, says the Instant Group. These firms appreciate the flexibility and amenities that can be enjoyed by their traveling staff.
And the money saved by avoiding extended office leases can really add up. One study, by WorkSocial, says that a team of 30 or fewer people can save 60% to 75% when such factors as furniture, renovations and utilities are taken into account.[^1]
